General Scholarship Information
The Charlotte Contemporary Ensemble (CCE) Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a graduating high school senior who has been accepted to an accredited College or University, and has auditioned and been accepted in that institution’s School of Music.
A $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded in full (half applied to each of two successive semesters) in the student’s name by CCE directly to the financial aid department of said institution (within the required time frame as stated by said institution) at the beginning of the fall semester.
Students who are in the 12th grade and attend any public, private or accredited home school are eligible to apply.
A WRITTEN THEORY TEST WILL BE GIVEN.
Applicants must provide the judges with three (3) copies of the music, with measures numbered. NO PHOTOCOPIED MUSIC WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITION ROOM UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE PUBLISHER. A letter of permission must be attached to the music.
IF AN ACCOMPANIST IS INDICATED IN THE SCORE, ONE MUST BE USED. Entrants must provide their own accompanist. No accompaniment tapes or CDs will be allowed.
Students may not audition by video or audio tapes.
The Scholarship winner will be expected to perform on the Charlotte Contemporary Ensemble’s Spring Concert.
A letter of reference is required from your music instructor (private voice teacher, school chorus teacher, or church music director). This letter should be typed, signed by your music instructor, folded and placed in a sealed envelope by the music instructor. On the back of the sealed envelope, said instructor should write the applicant’s name diagonally across the sealed flap of the envelope.
A NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE OF $15.00 must accompany the application. ONLY MONEY ORDERS OR CASHIERS CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. No cash, personal, church or school checks will be accepted. Money orders or cashiers checks should be made out to:
